September 18th. 1944

This day is engraved in our memory with golden letters. A gulf of unexpected events surprised us. With a bewildering speed new situations were following each other. The coming of the RAF - The destruction by the German "sprengkommando" - The entry of the first paratroopers - The PAN-action - The arrest of the NSB (Dutch collaborators) - The entry of the Sherman and Cromwell tanks - Crowds of people shouting of joy ........

But also: the bombing - the destruction - destroyed German tanks - the billeting of the Tommie's.

A lot we have forgotten already but the quick camera's eye caught everything  shown  in this album.
