Garden of Eden

the Garden of Eden (VieuwImages)

The place created by God as the abode for the first human beings.

According to Genesis 2, the garden was full of beautiful plants which were good to eat, but Adam and Eve were expelled for disobeying God's command. In rabbinical literature the Garden of Eden (Hebrew: Gan Eden) is the paradise where the righteous live after their deaths.
