Gomphrena globosa and Crinum asiaticum
Gomphrena globosa(Globe Amaranth or Bachelor's Button)belongs to the botanical family of the Amaranthaceae. This plant can be seen in many gardens in Southeast Asia.It is a low growing shrubby annual,flowering in the rainy season for 3 months with masses of commonly magenta coloured flowers,globular in shape.There are also varieties,blooming with white or pale mauve colours.Propagation is easily from seeds. Crinum Asiaticum(Spider Lily) is native to Southeast Asia and is growing in swamps,but is also a popular easy growing gardenplant.It belongs to the botanical family of the Amaryllidaceae.It has a massive,1 m. heigh,stem and bright-green leaves.The star-shaped white flowers appear on stalks in a sunburst arrangement. Its an easy plant and tolerates most soils and a wide range of conditions,sun and full shade and strong sea winds.
