Chapter 24
She made her way back to the lab with a smile on her face. She knew that it was guaranteed that he would go through with it... but, he was researching. She pulled into her parking space and quickly
made her way back inside. She walked into the breakroom to find her 3 colleagues sitting at the table, drinking coffee, and having a discussion. The first thing she heard was Nick's voice. "You're
shitting me, right?"
Catherine smiled and shook her head, glancing towards the door as Sara walked in. "Shitting you about what?"
Nick jumped like he'd been shot. "Um... Cath... well, she was saying something about..."
Warrick interrupted him. "A ring?"
Sara smiled brightly as she made her way to the table and sat down with them, placing her left hand on her cup of coffee.
"Wow!" It was all Nick could get out.
Warrick gently lifted her hand to examine it. "Damn! When did this happen?"
"This morning... beautiful, isn't it?"
Nick finally found his voice. "How did he ask you?"
"Nick!" Catherine scolded.
"What?"
"You never ask a woman how her fiancé proposed!"
Sara giggled. It was the first time she had heard the word 'fiancé' pertaining to her. She thought thoughtfully about it before answering. "He was very sweet..." She looked up to see all
three people looking intently at her. "Said I was everything to him." She sighed heavily and looked at the clock. Only 3 more hours to go.

He set the papers back down, removed his glasses, and rubbed the bridge of his nose. 'Sure, it sounds intriguing... pleasurable for both parties when done correctly... but what if... well, what if
I do it wrong and hurt her?' He slowly shook his head and glanced at the clock. Only 3 more hours until she was home. 'I don't have to make this decision right now... I can't... this is going
to take a lot more time than just a few hours.'
He reached over and set the alarm clock to go off in 2 1/2 hours... just in case he did happen to fall asleep.
~*~
Two and a half hours later, the alarm woke him from his sleep. He sat up and stretched his muscles. Breakfast... I promised her breakfast. He slowly rose and looked down at the papers thoughtfully
before picking them up and placing them in the nightstand. "Definitely need to think long and hard about this." He made his way to the kitchen after a quick shower to get breakfast started.
He heard the door open and smiled. She was home. He heard her footsteps enter the kitchen and grinned as she wrapped her arms around him and gently kissed his back.
"Hi."
He turned around and kissed her gently. "How was work?"
"Lonely."
He smiled. "You hungry?"
"Yeah... smells wonderful."
He handed her a cup of coffee. "Sit down... it's almost done."
She smiled as he sat down beside of her, placing two plates on the table. "So..."
She looked up at him. "So?"
His eyes looked down at her hand and he grinned. "What did they think?"
She laughed. "They're excited... although Nick didn't believe it at first."
He joined in with her laughter. "Of course not..."
"So, what did you do last night?"
"Nothing much... watched tv, did some research..." His eyes met hers. "And jacked off."
She blushed lightly as his hand caressed her face before leaning in for a kiss. "What kind of research?"
"Oh... you know... stuff that I'm... um... curious about." He saw the smile in her eyes. He was confused for a second and then it dawned on him that she had seen the papers when she came by earlier.
"Oh... you... uh... know."
She took his hand in hers. "Yeah, I saw..." She also saw that he was more than a little uncomfortable. "Gil?"
He looked up at her. "Yeah?"
"It's not something we have to do. And definitely not right now. It's just something that I thought we might experiment with at some point." He relaxed somewhat. "I take it that you've never..."
He shook his head. "No... never..." He took a deep breath, he wasn't sure if he wanted to ask this question. Of course, he knew she wasn't a virgin when they got together, and he wasn't either...
but, did he really want to know the answer? "Um... have... uh... have you?"
She smiled at him. "No... never trusted anyone enough to try it before."
He exhaled softly. "So, it would be something new for both of us, then?"
She nodded. "But... not until you're ready." She watched his eyes shift downwards. "And... if you never are ready... that's okay too."
His eyes met hers again. "Are you sure? Because, Sara... I don't know about this... I mean..."
She silenced him with a kiss. "I'm sure, Gil... it's okay."
He relaxed even more and looked at the table with a grin on his face. "What?"
"I was just thinking about another fantasy I've had."
Her grin matched his. "Which would be..."
Her eyes followed his to the jar of apple jelly which sat on the table. "Mmmm... apple... my favorite..."
"Mine too." His voice was in a hushed whisper.
She quickly grabbed the jar and stood. His eyes were questioning her. "We don't have any silk sheets yet... and I used the last of the baby oil the other night." Her grin broadened. "Let's
improvise." She slowly walked backwards out of the kitchen. "Come on Bug Boy... I'm still hungry."
He licked his lips as he stood, walking slowly towards her. Suddenly, she turned and sprinted down the hall. He laughed as he took off after her, leaving two plates of mostly uneaten food sitting on
the table.
