Antonov Plc specialises in the development and marketing of innovative transmission products primarily for the automotive market. Antonov holds a substantial intellectual property portfolio and constantly strives to identify and expand the commercial opportunities for its technology.

Antonov’s main product is the TX6 transmission. The TX6 is a 6-speed electronically controlled, hydraulically actuated, transverse automatic gearbox for small and medium sized passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The TX6 has been engineered and developed in the UK over the last 3 years and is now entering the final production development phase. The TX6 will be manufactured and assembled in China and will be released to the market in 2011. Antonov is also actively involved in the development of small 2-speed automatic gearboxes to optimise the performance and efficiency of engine accessories such as alternators, and the development of highly efficient multi-speed transmissions for electric vehicle applications.

Earlier in 2009, Antonov launched its technical consultancy division, calling on the experience of our expert engineering team to offer services to external clients for transmission design, analysis, and build and test engineering projects. This supplements the sales of patent licenses and engineering technical support programs to customers.

The ownership of patented transmission technology led to Antonov being listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange in 1995, and the Amsterdam Stock Exchange (Euronext) in 1997. Since then, Antonov has focused on the commercialisation of its intellectual property by investing in product development, research and continued innovation to bring products to market.

Bernd Ramler Dipl.-Ing. Bernd Ramler, non-executive director

My privat motives to enter the Antonov ship:
I`ve worked all my life in very interesting engineering projects and saw last year - advanced by Marius and Jos-  some interesting products from Antonov.
In the Antonov portfolio I found a lot of technical potential to "help" some big car manufacturers  to reduce her CO2 problems - it`s time to provide this technic in this direction and to get in discussion with the big OEMs .
I`ve a lot of links and interfaces in the reasearch and development departments and I`ll use this links for Antonov.

After graduating from the RWTH Aachen as a Certified Engineer in 1981, Mr Ramler has worked for three of the leading companies in the automotive industry in Germany; Daimler-Benz AG, Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Porsche AG, where he headed powertrain and engine activities for street cars (including the V10 engine for the Porsche Carrera GT) and racing cars as well as supporting racing activities worldwide for all three companies, including a double win for Porsche AG in the 24 hours of le Mans in 1998. In 2006, Mr Ramler left Mercedes-AMG GmbH to form his own engineering consultancy with a number of well-known automotive companies as clients.
