Launched on 8 December 1885 and the commissioned on 22 February 1886.
Fitted with a Triple expansion machine driving a single screw
1000 Hp / 735 Kw, speed 13 knots
In August 1914, the British Admiralty was requisites all ocean-going tugs, including the
"Blackcock".
In November 1918 on a trail to Archangel, she stranded near Vardoe in the White Sea.
The onset of the winter made salvage impossible and the most famous of all the Cock tugs
was lost in the ice.
